Ms. Pentland approaches teaching a sensitive topic by asking students to be mature and use leadership skills. It’s helpful for the students to put the vocabulary terms in their own words because it’s something that they understand. I know something that I say better than something someone else tells me. The iPads are good for participation because if there is something uncomfortable that they don’t want to say, all the students have to do is write it down.
